ABOUT THE LODGE

The Lodge is a contemporary place with an ancient history. In 1865, the architect Poggi was commissioned to design the renewal of the city of Florence, which officially became the capital of Italy. He did numerous architectural works, including the famous Viale dei Poggi, which culminates in the fantastic belvedere terrace, Piazzale Michelangelo. Several chalets can be found along the avenue, one of which is right at the Bastion: a roadman's house until the Second World War, it was later transformed into a pizzeria, but was only reborn in 2021, when there was a skillful renovation carried out by three entrepreneurs that gave life to an avant-garde venue with an extraordinary food and wine proposal.
Today, The Lodge is right in the heart of the Rampe del Poggi, which has become a UNESCO heritage site.
